About Me

Tower Web Design began formally in the summer of 2005, but I've been designing websites for ten years. I first started learning HTML in order to make a genealogy site to help me with family history research. After a couple of years, I became my church's webmaster, and then it was a natural step towards serving local businesses and organizations.

At Tower Web Design, I specialize in serving small businesses and non-profit organizations, helping them establish or improve their internet presence. I provide web design, site development and maintenance services. As the only web designer working on your website, I maintain oversight of every piece of the project. Since there is only one of me, you will have my personal attention throughout the design process. I won't be satisfied until all of the pieces satisfy you.

I have advanced HTML and CSS knowledge, and extensive experience installing and customizing the WordPress blogging platform. I am well-acquainted with the on-going task of search engine optimization. I am always working to develop my abilities and am currently learning PHP.

One of my strengths is organization. A website is not static -- it is not only "pages" but the inter-connections between them. I can effectively organize the content, navigation and features of a site into a structure that makes sense to the visitor, which, in turn, helps your site meet the needs of your business or organization.

For three years, I have served as a moderator of a web design forum. At the forum, I have contributed many website critiques, helping new webmasters see their site or project with experienced eyes. Evaluating a current or developing site is another area where I excel; this ability is an essential factor in the redesign of an exisiting site.

As a life-long, active particpant in my church and a church webmaster for over nine years, I have an in-depth appreciation of the particular needs and purposes of church websites and the relationship of people, staff, programs and ministries. I would be happy to help a church develop an internet presence.
